Science this week: Back to basics: the sixth graders will hone their scientific skills of observation, comparison, and categorization.
Do at home! Some materials can carry electric charges better than others. Try rubbing different materials on balloons at home and observing whether the type of material you use affects whether the balloons are attracted to or repelled from one another. Some suggestions: plastic bags/plastic wrap, tissues, wool, cotton, newspaper, dryer sheets.
